For over nine years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has used this platform to connect with his people, sharing his thoughts, ideas and vision for the country. And now, as the show approaches its hundredth episode, Collective Spirit, Concrete Action takes you on a journey through the themes that have defined Mann Ki Baat and shaped India’s developmental trajectory. In this, our 75th year of Independence … weneeded quality literature around our great tribal freedom fighters. This bookis a truly commendable start in that direction. —Arjun Munda, Minister ofTribal Affairs Our first war of Independence was not in 1857. In fact, tribal mutinies against the British began at least 75 yearsbefore the 1857 revolution. These battles were fought with traditional bows andarrows and spears, and predated the reported political movement that came tothe fore in the latter part of the nineteenth century. we complete 75 years ofIndependence, it is only fair to acknowledge that a parallel freedom movementhad existed in our far-flung villages and jungles, away from the mainstreamfreedom movement acknowledged in the books of history. The Great Tribal Warriors ofBharat is a humble attempt to honourthese largely unsung heroes of an epochal movement, whose contribution remainslargely unacknowledged. The book begins with Tilka Manjhi, who unleashedguerilla warfare to combat the British, and includes Jaipal Singh Munda, one ofthe most nuanced speakers of our Constituent Assembly, tracking the trajectoryof this movement. These brave warriors came from all parts of India, includingthe Northeast and the South, and from all tribes existing in the country. This book is a rare collectionand a journey into self-discovery for our civilization turned nation.

“This book by @shantanug_ on Uttar Pradesh’s transformation under CM Yogi Adityanath is a fascinating read. It captures how governance has changed lives of people at the grassroots, which is manifesting itself as a committed electoral block for the BJP. Do read. https://t.co/ddC8VqUEdd” (from X)

The Monk who Transformed Uttar Pradesh: How Yogi Adityanath changed ‘UP Waala Bhaiya’ Abuse to a Badge of Honour by Shantanu Gupta enlists, with facts, the speed and the scale with which Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transformed the state of Uttar Pradesh, which appeared to be perennially mired as a BIMARU state, with corruption, nepotism, lawlessness having become it’s salient features.Taking over as a surprise choice after the 2017 Assembly elections, in which the BJP and its allies romped home with a massive majority, Adityanath, who many dismissed initially as a ‘sanyasi’ who was inexperienced in matters of administration, has brought about a turn-around of UP, which is hard to believe, but difficult to dismiss as facts reveal the same. Bringing crime under control, rather sending shivers up the spine of many-a-bahubalis, or priming Uttar Pradesh for industrial investment, Yogi Adityanath, has transformed the state into a peaceful state, where people can move freely, and women feel safe. Checking other boxes like industrial investment, improving infrastructure, handling the corona epidemic, increasing health and transport infrastructure across districts and regions-like Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, or making the lives of common people and workers, who were too keen on migrating, easy and providing them jobs within the state.
